When talking about design, we generally focus on two different areas:

- User Interface (UI) Design
Web Design
Before any sort of product or site is created for a company, they must have a strong corporate identity. Internally, this includes direction and goals; visually, this is represented through a logo and visual corporate identity. A good corporate web design should be unique; a great web design should go above and beyond written copy to communicate about the company.
User Interface Design
Professional web design or designing for multimedia is very different from the kind of static design that is done for print media. Although typography and color treatment are still important, there are a number of additional factors that have to be taken into consideration:
- Who will be using the website or application and what are they trying to do?
- How does a user navigate from point A to point B? (And back to A again)
- What stays the same and what changes to create a cohesive user experience?
