It seems that I hear a lot of people within the Drupal community focusing on how to make Drupal scalable. This is all well and good, but Drupal does scale; the Emmys know this, the Grammys know this and so does the Economist.

If you've got some technical expertise and you're looking to increase your blog traffic stick to this winning formula: the "How to". A successful how to blog post (and your key to increasing blog traffic) has four key elements:

1. Blog Title
2. Easy to read data
3. Code or example
4. Keyword repetition

People are often surprised when things don't go according to plan. In the web development world this may be a customer presentation, server maintenance gone bad or a dozen of other things. When this happens, it's not a sign of the world conspiring against you, but rather a sign of bad planning.

If you are in the market for Drupal development, you may feel like you are trying to pick a car mechanic without knowing anything about cars. Please don't get me wrong. Developers like designers who familiarize themselves with the technologies they are designing for. It saves time and energy, when first cut designs require little or no feedback from the development team. That said, dictating technology is a fast track to getting yourself removed from a developer's Holiday card list.

Developers think of design as Black Magic*. Really.
